Recommendation on the Use of Multiple FWBs Under e-AWB
It has always been the intention of IATA that freight forwarders only send one correct FWB (or XFWB) however under the e-AWB program, subsequent FWBs (or XFWB) could be requested by an airline or the ground handling agent in some cases. The following IATA notice outlines the instances in which the use of multiple FWBs would be acceptable.

Accordingly, the IATA Cargo Business Process Panel has developed the following recommendation for clarification purposes:

Industry stakeholders (freight forwarders, airlines, ground handlers and IT service providers) should be in a position to process multiple FWBs (or XFWBs) and the last FWB (or XFWB) received from the freight forwarder prior to the submission of the FSU/RCS (or XFSU/RCS) by the airline should form the shipment record i.e. the electronic cargo contract (e-AWB).
